Tari Festival 2009 Moved

Oh good Lord, why now?
They cancelled the festival and
moved it on October or December, I think.
They said that a lot of cases have been reported already.
They just want to take the necessary precautions.
Arghhhhh.

After we paid the tickets and arranged all-important stuff,
swine flu will get in the way. :(
I hate it. I swear.
It caused so much stress in people's lives.

Okay.
No more Malaysia Tour for now. :((
Darn. Swine flu killed all the excitement.

Eyeglasses

I know I am being silly,
but come on, who wouldn't feel bad if you
see one day your dad is wearing eyeglasses?
It's not a big thing for most of the people I know.
Some would probably just laugh at me and
will not heed whatever I write here.

It's just that I'm so used to the "dad" who is
strong, energetic, and young.
I did not realize that my parents are getting older already.

I cried earlier.
Okay, don't laugh.
I felt really scared when my dad text messaged
me about the bad news.
It's one of the signs of aging.
And then, it also crossed my mind that maybe
I wasn't spending more time with him
that's why I didn't notice.
I cried even more knowing that the reason why
I couldn't spend more time with him is
because of my academics and extracurricular activities.

I feel much better now.
And I also learned something new-
eyeglasses make you see things clearly.
I know now where I'm heading to and what should I do.
2 more terms...
I just have to wait.

Big and Loose Curls

Since I'm planning to have my hair permed.
I searched the net for pictures
of celebrities and random people
with the type of curls
I want to have. :D
Check it out.
And holla back here, YM or FB
if you think I should go for it :D

Respect

You will never ever get it. :)
NOT from them. NOT from him/her.
And yeah, NOT from me.
Do not give what you cannot take.
Karma is just around the corner. *wink*

Happy Father's Day, Papa!

Happy happy father's day
to the
most patient and loving dad in the world!!!

Thank you so much
for putting our family first before anything else.
I love you. :)
I'm glad you liked my gift and card.

Oh Shoes!

Oh my, I cannot stop buying shoes! :|

It all started when our school enforced
the dress code policy again regarding
our footwear- NO flip flops.
I used to wear flip flops almost everyday in school
and now I'm forced to wear sandals/heels/wedges/flats
to school and I'm quite addicted to it already.

Here's my recent buy for the month of June:

(I bought this last May) Strappy sandals from Trunk Show

Navy blue fringe wedge sandals from Pill
Black basket weave pumps from Dorothy Perkins

My shoe rack with my latest shoes:

Barbie: Celebrating Its 50th Anniversary

Barbara Millicent Roberts a.k.a. Barbie,
one of the most famous women in the world,
celebrated its 50th anniversary last March 2009.

A business woman named Ruth Handler,
former president of Mattel Inc.,
created Barbie in 1959.
Her daughter, Barbara, inspired her
when Ruth saw her daughter
playing and giving paper dolls mature roles.
They had a trip to Europe and there Ruth
saw a German doll that was exactly what's on her mind.
Since then, Barbie doll became a hit on young girls.
And oh, even to teenagers and young adults too. *wink*

So here's a few pictures I've taken
from the Toys R' Us (Robinson's Ermita) stall
in celebration of Barbie's 50th.

And my favorite among the Barbie dolls I have seen...
Preview Magazine also paid tribute to Barbie
through the Barbie-inspired June 2009 issue.
They dressed up and made up cover girl Marian Rivera
to look like Barbie.

I remember when I was young,
my parents used to buy Barbie dolls for me every Sunday.
I love her fashion style and her long blonde locks.
She is so pretty. :D
I was morbid though.
I ALWAYS cut her hair thinking it would grow back. Haha!
And yeah, her limbs too. :|
I also don't know why. :))
But despite that, no matter how old you are,
Barbie is timeless.

Tari Festival 2009

Malaysia, here we come!!! :D

On July 14-18, 2009,
there will be an international dance festival in Malaysia
in which De La Salle University- Manila's
La Salle Dance Company- Contemporary,
formerly known as La Salle Dance Company- Jazz,
will represent the Philippines together
with the University of the Philippines Dance Company.

There will be a lot of workshops and seminars
in store for all the participating schools around the world
by the Faculty of Dance ASWARA.
Every school is also going to perform
a 30-minute piece.

I'm so excited! :)
Our departure date is on July 12, 2009; however,
the bad thing is that we will all take
our midterm examinations in advance because
the midterm week is on July 13-18. :(

I'm still happy though hihi
I cannot wait to visit different places,
to shop around KL, and
to eat the original Nasi Lemak.
Weeeeeee! :D
3 more weeks!!! :D

Baguio Trip with Jay

Baguio Trip: May 22-24, 2009

12 years has passed since the last time
I visited the City of Pines.
I actually can't remember some of the places
my family and I visited.
A few maybe like...

Baguio Cathedral

Burnham Park

Mine's View Park

The Mansion

Wright Park

Horse-back riding at Wright Park

and of course, who would forget...
Camp John Hay

These are the places that I can't forget

when I went to Baguio 12 years ago.
So many things have changed.
The city is now commercialized and modernized

by the city mayor.
It is not the same city-on-top-of-the-mountain

that I always remember.

I still love the place though.
I love the weather, the people, and the ukay-ukay.

Here are the new places and new things
that Jay and I went to and tried out:

Baguio Botannical Garden

Igorot costume at Mine's View Park

Picture-taking with St. Bernard dogs at Mine'sView Park

Strawberry Taho at Mine's View Park

Baguio City Market

SM Baguio

Butterfly Sanctuary

I will never ever forget this trip.
Everything is just so beautiful and wonderful.
Thank you so much Jay. ♥

No School for 10 Days

Everybody freaked out when the school authority announced
that there is one Japanese student who has AH1N1. :O

We were all inside the school getting ready for the
audition of the new applicants for LSDC-Jazz/Contemporary
and suddenly the discipline office personnel gave a note saying
that there are no classes for 10 days starting tomorrow
which is June 4. :|

The student was confined in a hospital since May 12.
DOH (Department of Health) released the medical findings of the
said student today and they found out
that she is positive with the virus.
Poor girl. :(

And now...
We're out of school for 10days. :((
Which means more school work for us when we get back :((
Oh no.

Bulilit

Bulilit means small.

The kid in the commercial video is very popular now.
SHE (Now you know, Jay :P) is so adorable and charming. :)
She acts naturally.
RAR. :)) She's sooooooooooo cute. :D
Watch the video and you'll see.
Btw, the video is about the typical life of a lot of Filipinos here in Manila.
They used to live in a small, shabby house or
squatter's area as they call here in the Philippines.
Things have changed ever since
the little girl's family moved to Camella Homes.
Enjoy! :D

Goodbye Happy Days, Hello Nightmare!

Summer holiday has officially ended. :(
I had one week taste of my last year in college
and I'm already tired.
I have 11 subjects this term-
4 ECED major classes,
6 educational courses,
and 1 general subject.
How great is that?
My social life just died. :(
What makes it really dreadful is that I have to wake up
VERY EARLY.
My first class starts at 8am and since my house is 11 stations away
from La Salle, I have to wake up early.
Grrrrrr. I'm not a morning person. :((
It's not hard. It's just that I love to sleep. :((

Oh dear.
God help me and give me strength.
I need an outlet.
I can't take the stressors. :(
