Along the Street of Stamford: Singapore Biennale 2013 Visit Part 2

This is the second part of my trip to the museums and this visit is quite extraordinary than the previous one. Singapore Biennale 2013 at National Museum of Singapore, 93 Stamford Road, is one of the venues of the event.

The exhibit, Unsubtitled, found at the basement of the museum has a well-explained life of Vietnamese. Their everyday life seems mundane to many, but its transparency has moved people to what reality is. Below is shown human-sized white boards where daily living of a Vietnamese is projected.

Other amazing works are the Rainbow Circle found at the entrance of the museum. Wormhole, Lumbung Ilmu, 2243: Moving Forward are situated just outside. Chalk & Cheese is something you will give a second look to for a bunch of mops and brooms are quite odd to be placed in the middle of a hall.

One of my favorite pieces is the Crystal Palace: The Great Exhibition of the Works of Industry of All Nuclear Nations. You will not miss the 31 majestic chandeliers lit with UV light adjacent to Unsubtitled. 31 stands for the number of nuclear plants in Japan. This work of art manifests the Fukushima nuclear bombing in Japan back in 2011.
