Semestral Break Vibes

Sembreak is officially over

and yes,

it is time for me to put on my teaching shoes again.

I HAVE to put those dancing kicks back in the rack. :)

It was hell of a week, I must say!

A week well spent with

 my biological family, La Sallian family, and myself.

-  Change for the better.

I just chopped off my side swept bangs into full bangs.

I believe it suits me well. ;)

- My taste buds missed these.

I spent my first few taste of vacation

 at Coffee Bean and Cafe Noriter 

to work on my The Gazette article and to read a book.

Actually, I just wanted to binge on tea lattes, cake, and pastries. :))

- Wounds heal and so does my heart.

I tripped. AGAIN.

I think this is one of my hobbies nowadays. Tsk.

This time, it was not one of those times 

where my reflexes were doing their work.

I fell, got wounded, and had swollen left knee.

And as for my heart,

the more I put effort in healing it, 

the more it just keeps getting wounded .

- Welcome to my hood. *S sign up in the air*

I was able to dance again with my loves at Asylum.

I also choreographed a dance for the girls. So foxy. Woot!

This is yet another great performance with the

La Salle Dance Company.

After a year and a half of absence in the company,

I am back again- only this time as an alumna.

So proud and happy to be able to represent LSDC again! :)

Goodbye University, Hello Reality!

The best gift that a child could give to his parents

is the honor of seeing him/her

march on stage and get a diploma.

That was my parents only wish for me...

And I made it! :')

Earlier, I nearly cried while marching on stage-

all because of joy and gratitude.

I had a flashback of memories and I couldn't help

but smile and reminisce.

After 3 and a half years, here I am, a professional TEACHER.

This is impossible if not without my parents.

Thank you, Ma & Pa. :')

UAAP Season 73 Opening Ceremony

Let the games begin.

UAAP is now on its 73rd Season!
This year the hosting school, my alma mater,
De La Salle University-Manila,
prepared for a tremendous opening number with all
the different organizations from
DLSU, DLS-CSB, and La Salle Greenhills.
A soulful song number
was also performed by Mr. Ogie Alcasid
and an energetic song and dance number
was performed by DLSU's very own alumnus,
Mr. Gary Valenciano together with the Maneouvers.
A teaser for all the participating schools was made by a
well-known director, Mr. Mark Reyes.

The opening number was awesome and
everyone rocked the Big Dome.
I saw the excitement in the faces of all
the Lasallians who went there to support.
To top it all of,
DLSU Green Archers won against UP Maroon by 18points.
What a good way to start the season, eh? ;)

I am so PROUD to be part of this big event.
Big congrats to my crew, Skittlez,
for being one of the crews who performed for this
once in a lifetime opportunity.
All those sleepless nights and
countless times we've practiced the dances are worth it.
I feel like I made a big mark
before leaving the university.

Remix '09: Kabataang Lasalyano

is a project of the La Salle Dance Company

together with our advisers

Mr. Peter Alcedo Jr. and

Ms. Mycs Villoso.

It's advocacy which is for the Filipino youth

to know and practice their rights and privileges

somehow touched the audience's mind.

Believing that they could stand up and

exercise the right to VOTE

and to VOICE out their ideas

were shown during the competition

through dance.

Together with the Cultural Arts Office,

we welcomed every Lasallian youth

who participated in the said dance competition

to showcase their talents.

Every concept and ideas that the groups have shown

were spectacular and worth watching.

The true meaning of nationalism and oneness

filled the whole auditorium of Teresa Yuchengco Building

at De La Salle University Manila.

I'm proud of you!

I have learned that no matter how easy or

how hard your job is,

sometimes you have learn to ask help from friends

or colleagues.

You will learn a lot from them.

I have thrived from this project

because of some happenings that I could not control. :)

I am glad that in crunch times,

I know who to ask help from. :)

It Is Officially Over

Everything was blur last week.
I was bombarded with so many questions.
"What do I do first?
How will I finish this?
Is this the right thing to write?
Will I get good grades?..."

All those questions were in my mind.
I am so glad 1st term is officially over.
I'm so sick of it.
All those dreadful days and sleepless nights...
Grrrr....
11 subjects + group & individual paperwork + field work
= DUE DATES!!!

The term was like a tour in a haunted house.
You'll never know when the scary "ghosts" would come out.
I think it is because
I had a lot of subjects- not that I am complaining. :P
Gawd. I don't know how I managed to survive the term.
I cannot think properly during the last week of the term.
I also must say pressure does not combine well with tonsillitis.
Haha!
It was so stressful that I cried for two consecutive nights. :|
Oh well, at least it's over now.
Gayle is happy again :D

I can wait no more.
1 more day and I'm free from stress. :)
I thought I will never make it.
But whoa, I didn't know I was that determined
to finish all those things.
I barely got any sleep.
I feel like a ghost walking down the corridor of Andrew Building.

Just one more day. :)
I hope I pass my 11 subjects hehe
I'm sure I'll pass and get good grades,
but who knows something unexpected happens...

Anyway, I'm excited for my practicum!
We will start late this week or early next week.

The Term Is About To End

This week is hell week for me. :(
This is the first time I have ever crammed
and have gotten really tired because of writing
papers, doing projects, and all those stuff.
What do you expect?
I have 11 subjects. :(
My brain needs to rest.
Too tired to function.

Anyway, I just need to take this out of my chest
or else I'm going crazy already.
Haha kidding. :P
No, seriously, this is so stressful.
BIGTIME. :|

Cultural Arts Office's Awards Night 2009

CAO's annual awards night

was smooth and short.
It was held at the DLSU's Sports Complex.
Yeah I know, the place is not so appropriate
for our superb chic outfit. Haha
Anyway, the theme was fashion show with a twist.
As I have mentioned in my previous post,
LSDC-Jazz/Contemporary's twist was either belt or suspenders.
We, TEAMFAB, were fashionably late, as usual.
Good thing I was right on time.
I was asked to present an award with Matthew.
We were seated at the back so I can't remember who won what. :(
I just heard the group's scream
when they were announced as the winner.
But yeah, congratulations to all the winners
esp. LSDC-Street and Harlequin Theater Guild
for taking home 2-3 awards that night. :)

Good Girls Gone Bad

Last Minute Shopping For CAO Awards Night

DLSU's very own Cultural Arts Office

will have its annual awards night later tonight
at Enrique Razon Sports Complex.
Ok, I know. Sports Complex. Awards Night.
And the theme is Fashion Show With A Twist.
Great.
The place is SO NOT suitable for the theme.
Who would be inspired to dress up
in an event held at a school's conference room?
No one.
Do we have a choice?
No. :(

Here we are so stressed on what to wear
tonight...
On a good note, our "twist" is easy to buy/get/wear-
belts or suspenders.
We all decided to wear chic, eye-catchy, and big belts
that are on the latest trend nowadays.
That should inspire us... :)

Yesterday, I went to MOA (SM Mall of Asia)
with Nadine and Lucky to look
for a top to match my black miniskirt.
I also helped them in looking for their "twists."
We walked around the HUGE mall
and were able to buy
the ones we really like.
Oh wait except Nadine. :|
She got a white, patent obi belt that has stains on it.
It was the perfect belt for her black dress,
but the shop didn't have new stocks for it.
She still bought it since there was no other option.
We would just try to make it look as clean as possible. :(
Lucky was able to buy two vintage-y rings.
Me likey!!! esp. the green one :D
And then, I bought a purple top
from Terranova.
I love it! :D
Plus it's so cheap (50% off, i think)
Gayle is VERY happy. ;p
We all are, actually.
After walking around and buying the necessary things,
we got hungry and ate at Sbarro. :)

Checklist for CAO Awards:

sexy skirt: OK!
heels/wedges/flatforms: OK!
accessories: OK!
hairstyle: Pending.
make-up: Pending.


And oh, I almost forgot!
While going in and out of boutiques,
we saw this huge poster inside F&H (Folded and Hung).
Apparently, it quickly caught our eyes because
it was VERY DISTURBING- in a good way. :P
Right, Lucky?

They were able to make people go in the shop.
Well, mostly girls.Haha!

A Tribute To Our Late President Cory Aquino

The Woman We Loved Three Times-

The night before the burial of late Pres.Cory,
we, La Salle Dance Company Jazz,
were asked to perform in the
Central Plaza of DLSU-M.

The dance piece was made a few hours before the show.
We were all anxious because
this is the first time we, dancers,
are going to do this. Haha :)

Anyway, I feel really blessed
to be able to dance for her.

Museo Pambata

Museo Pambata
(Museum for Children)
is located at Roxas Boulevard corner T.M. Kalaw.
It is open from Tuesday- Sunday
9am-5pm.
50% ticket discount for Manila residents :P

So ok, I went there earlier with my blockmate Nia
to check out their library for our ECEDLIT class.
Can you believe it?
It was actually my first time to go there.
19 years of my life here in Manila,
I have NEVER been there.
Loser, I know. :))
We always pass by the area, but I have never visited it.
And so, today is the day!

Nia and I went there after our class.
I was so ready to splurge for the ticket,
but the receptionist saved my burning pocket.
He asked us if we were Manila residents.
Of course we are! *wink*
He then asked us if we have IDs
that have our addresses on them.
I used my Western Union receipt as a proof.
Sadly though, Nia did not bring her EAF or any proof
and so she was asked to pay 100php for the entrance.
Guess what?
Mine was free!!!
Every Tuesdays, they let Manila residents go in for free
once they give a proof that they are students
and yeah, they are residing here in Manila.

The place is so amazing!
I wish Jay went there with me.
He would love the Science Area and the Sports Area.
The Science Area is soooooo awesome!
The gadgets and invented materials displayed
are so cool and amazing!
I take my hat off to the inventors of all those things. :)

My favorite places were the library and the Fishes Area. :)

The place looks scary but it is very beautiful in real-life.

A nipa hut
There is also a Philippine history area where
paintings, dioramas, and clothes
of Philippine heroes are displayed
for public viewing; and a pasalubong area where
visitors could buy handcraft and recycled materials.
I bought postcards for Jay. :)



I would definitely go back there.
I have to bring Jay the next time
I visit Museo Pambata. :)
