Remix'09: Kabataang Lasalyano

Remix '09: Kabataang Lasalyano
is a project of the La Salle Dance Company
together with our advisers
Mr. Peter Alcedo Jr. and
Ms. Mycs Villoso.
It's advocacy which is for the Filipino youth
to know and practice their rights and privileges
somehow touched the audience's mind.
Believing that they could stand up and
exercise the right to VOTE
and to VOICE out their ideas
were shown during the competition
through dance.

Together with the Cultural Arts Office,
we welcomed every Lasallian youth
who participated in the said dance competition
to showcase their talents.
Every concept and ideas that the groups have shown
were spectacular and worth watching.
The true meaning of nationalism and oneness
filled the whole auditorium of Teresa Yuchengco Building
at De La Salle University Manila.
I'm proud of you!
All of you :)

Congratulations to all the winners!

Champion: ComOne Ground
2d Place: New Breed Crew
3d Place: Team Elite

And of course,
congratulations LSDC!
We all made this event possible
and successful
even if there were a lot of
miscommunication and carelessness.
I also want to congratulate LSDC
for a remarkable dance performance
entitled "Panata sa Bayan"
choreographed by
Sir Peter and Coach Mycs.

Thank you to Ms. Mae Paner a.k.a Juana Change
for the intermission number!
We sure did get your message
from that awesome song and dance number. :)

And to end this blog post,
I am going to share to everyone the famous phrase
"No man is an island."
I have learned that no matter how easy or
how hard your job is,
sometimes you have learn to ask help from friends
or colleagues.
You will learn a lot from them.
I have thrived from this project
because of some happenings that I could not control. :)
I am glad that in crunch times,
I know who to ask help from. :)

Awesome Sunday With You

It has been one hella week for Jay and I,
but we still managed to unwind a bit. :))
We ate lunch, watched a movie, and went to the salon.
Not our typical Sunday.
Hahahaha

So anyway, we did our hair at Vivere Salon.
The best place to cut and treat your hair.
It is not that expensive as compared
to other salons around Manila and the people there are super nice. :)
I decided to trim my hair since it is near my waist already
and Jay dyed his to get ready for Remix'09.
He also trimmed his hair to get that extra oomph. ;p

Our stylist, Peng, putting wax on Jay's hair

And me waiting for Jay :)

After our salon treatment, we watched a movie- Fame.

This was recommended by my good friend Monica. :)
This movie is a remake of Fame 1980 version
about the life of performing artists.
Such an awesome movie!
I want to recommend this most especially
to my co-performing artists in DLSU.
You'll be inspired, swear. :)
This movie really tells the life of
performing artists like us
and how much we love what we are doing.
In this movie,
you'll see every drama behind success,

tears before improving, and
trials before achieving the goals.

Here's one of the teasers of the movie:
My favorite scene where Marco
played the piano and sang "Try."

And my favorite dance performance- very sexy modern jazz. :)

This is really a nice way to release stress. :)
I enjoyed every minute of it.
Thank you so much, Jay. <3

Juson D' Party

This is the despedida/ send-off party
to one of my colleagues, Ramon Juson or RJ to many.
He is leaving for Canada for good. :(
RJ is the former company manager/president of LSDC-Street.
And one year with him (projects, concerts, etc.)
is really memorable and fun.
It saddens most of us because we won't be able
to dance and hang-out
with him anymore, at least for now.
Anyway, the party was held at Lexi's place
at 10th Street, New Manila QC.

LSDC-Jazz went there on time. :)
Hahahaha
Present that day:
Kate, Rika, Mon, Nads, Kim, Gayle, Evan, and Totie

The party's fun esp.
when we were watching the surprise video

and reminiscing RJ's "good old days." :))
The hosts that night were Gino and Ate Chesca of LSDC-Street.
There were fun games and yummy food at the party too.
(I like the hotdog on stick with mallows :D)

And here's a photograph of me
while chatting with friends...
I had a great night. :)
Thank you so much for inviting us, RJ.
Take care and don't ever forget us. :)
We'll keep in touch aryt?
I know you're feeling sad and heartbroken now.
Just remember that no matter how far you are
there's always YM and FB where we could update
and chat. :)
I'm happy you're with your family already.

Smile because you are
one step forward in seeing us again. :)
We will miss you.

Of True Love and Puppy Love

I hate it when YOU start babbling nonsensical things about LOVE.
It's as if YOU know everything about it
or shall I say, it's as if YOU have truly felt it.
Don't be a know-it-all because
you can never learn everything about love in ONE NIGHT.
I don't understand why some people still pretend that they care even if
it is so obvious already that they don't.
STOP PRETENDING IF YOU DON'T REALLY CARE.
You're making a big fool out of yourself.
And stop asking/saying rhetoric questions/statements
about love since shallow-minded people
will NEVER (you read that?)
understand what true love really means, that is if it really
does exist in their world.
Stop saying YOU understand
because actions speak louder than words.
I'm not raging because I hate you,
but because I hate all your actions towards
people who truly love you.
EARTH CALLING YOU!
Just because you have a pretty face doesn't mean
you can step on other people's dignity and self-esteem.
Excuse moi, who the heck are you?
After all those hurtful things that you've said,
you'll take your words back?
Hahahahahaha
Are you serious?
Haven't you heard of the saying:
"What is done can never be undone." ???
Unbelievable.
YOU ARE IMPOSSIBLE.

You know, you shouldn't have said yes in the first place.
You have cut him to the quick and
shattered his heart into gazillion pieces.
I can't imagine Jay would do or say those things to me.
You have explained your side in a nutshell
and I find no other words to describe it
but irrational and selfish.
Can you try not to be hypocrite now?
It is just so downright disgusting.
Let's face it,
you may like him or you like it when he's there
but you don't REALLY love him.

Twin

I totally freaked out when I saw her picture.
A lot of people have been telling me
that we have the same features, facial expressions, and all that.
I'd of course did not believe them at first.
I thought they were just
exaggerating or something.
I want to see with my naked eyes if we truly are "twins."
And then I saw her 18th birthday pictures...
I was speechless and I had goosebumps.
I was stunned.
IT WAS SOOOOO FREAKY but in a good way of course.
She's like my lil sister. :)
It's just that I'm slimmer and smaller. Hihi
Funny thing is that we are both dancers.
She's more into hiphop/cheerleading
and I into contemporary/jazz.
Top: Krystal Bermudo, 18
Bottom: Gayle Penaranda, 20

And then I saw her face to face.
OHEMGEEEE... =O
I was like looking at myself. Hahaha

In this picture, we don't REALLY look like each other,
but in person, WE ARE. :))

What I cannot forget was the time we were
both looking at the mirror.
She asked me to stand beside her
and there we are,
looking at each other in awe.

* Some of the pictures are from Krystal. :)

Into Basic and Classic

I never consider myself as one of the fashion addicts since I don't follow the trend.
I mean I do, sort of. Hmmm like shoes or pants but never my whole outfit. I also shift into different styles depending, of course, on what occasion. Let's say I'm going clubbing with my dance friends, then of course I would wear the usual tank top+ skinny jeans+ hi-cut shoes+ hoodie. And on school days, I'm into basic top or sometimes dressy top + skinny jeans or tights or shorts. What really matters for me is the accessory. :) My outfit is incomplete without it. Haha Here's a sample of what I normally wear in school.

(L-R) capri jeans+plaid top+blazer, dress+classic black shoulder bag+belt+stud earrings+bangles, jeans+layered necklace+simple yet edge-y top(a bit backless), tank top+miniskirt w/ rhinestones+bolero hoodie, scarf+tank top+tights

I'm not like the other girls out there who shop almost everyday. Whenever I buy clothes, which is rare, I always buy what I really need. (e.g. top, formal top, jeans, accessories, sandals, or flats) I want something that I could wear without people noticing I wore the same top/jeans already. Those people who do not have a life besides criticizing is so irritating. As what Lizzy McGuire has said, they are called "outfit rememberer." :))

And then I got inspired by the Olsen Twins... :D
I have read their So Little Time series and I have seen them everywhere, but never have I noticed their fashion style. I find them really pretty and adventurous. And now I realize that I like how they dress up. :) The way they put their clothes together, the style of their hair, the smudgy eye make-up, and their confidence in showing who they really are through fashion. :) Don't get me wrong. I still disagree with the "everyday shopping" thing. Hahaha

Friday/Saturday at Home

I have spent my weekend sluggishly here at home- my room.
I've been watching movies and dance videos online all day. :| Oh dear, I miss going to school.
And of course, my practicum site, Sacred Heart School/Tots and Thoughts Academy.
We didn't have classes for 1 week and boy, it was awful and boring.
No school= no allowance so I REALLY can't go out because I can't use my savings since imma use it for important things. It's not that I'm not allowed to use it. I just personally don't want to. :) Anyway, I enjoyed watching Beauty & the Beast and Sleeping Beauty. Thanks to ever so reliable YouTube. Harhar I'm also starting to read The Time Traveler's Wife. I hope to finish it next week. :D And yeah, I've been eating more than usual these past few days because seriously, there was NOTHING to do. Haha

Rika and I were supposed to go to PAWS (Philippine Animal Welfare Society) yesterday to volunteer in taking care of the homeless animals, but
she got sick. So, I just went to Burgundy Taft and brought her and Monica lunch which, by the way, cooked by my aunt. Hihi Both of them are sick pala. :|
Jay and I bought medicine for them also. Monica went to Magallanes to be with her sister so Rika was left alone in the condo. After that, Jay and I ate lunch at Ersao- just across Burgundy Taft. We were in a hurry to go home because the sky is so gloomy. There was another typhoon coming according to PAGASA. :| It's so scary that we, Rika, Jay, and I, bought food and candles in the nearby convenience store. Rain started to pour down when I reached my place and then it stopped after a while. Thank God. The weather is still unpredictable until now. Let's just pray for everyone's safety. I wish everything will be okay. This is so scary. :|

Little Girl Saying "Whatever"

This is SO not funny.
No wonder a lot of
lil kids swear and know a lot of bad words.
Ok, I'm really pissed.
Some find this video hilarious, but I'm sorry
I DON'T.
